This event is in recognition of SBGC life member Brian Grace. Gracie as he was affectionately known, was a long term board and committee member of Tuggerah Lakes Golf Club who was awarded Life Membership of the club for his services. The Brian Grace Gold Plate perpetual trophy has an actual gold plated horse racing plate in recognition of his love of horse racing. The event is played annually on Golden Slipper day which one of his favourite race days in the calendar.
