19th May was the first of the moaners three majors being Corporate Day, and 120 plus players embraced perfect whether for a 6.30 shot gun start.
Plenty of prizes were available to those who played well enough and the winner of the day was Clinton Jones with a handsome 41 points from a distant runner up Stephen Brown on 36 points.
All players enjoyed a bacon and egg roll for breakfast followed by a great roast meal for lunch.
Much thanks goes to Scott Armstrong and his team for their assistance, the greens staff who presented the course in great order, the kitchen staff for a wonderful meal as well as “Wally” (Darren Wallington) the proprietor of the “Greasy Spoon” who feeds us Breakfast each Sunday and big thankyou to Jas Hart and the boys in the pro shop for putting the prizes together and doing over and above to get the cards and scores through.
May has seen the coming of age for Moaner Sweaty Mick Cumming who has recorded 2 of his 3 wins for the year this month. The rest of us will need to start playing some golf if we are to be any serious concern to Mick and the yearly consistency award.
Winners for May were, 5 May Mick Cumming,12 May Ross Keane,19 May (Corp Day) Clinton Jones,26 May Mick Cumming.
