MESSAGE FROM THE GENERAL MANAGER – JULY 2019

Dear Members,

The extended period of fine weather has being interrupted by the inevitable winter rains. This is good news for the course however has reduced golfing numbers and the ability to have carts on the course over recent weeks. We appreciate the members patience as maintaining the course standard and balancing the ability for carts to be used can be a challenge. This time next the year the drainage will have been installed on the 1st, 2nd, 3rd and the 18th holes and will allow greater flexibility for cart use and a better playing surface for golfers to enjoy.

We are still working on the toilet project we received the grant for. Our initial DA application was declined and there was a request for the toilet to be located in a different position to what was submitted along with some additional items to ensure approval. Management have met with council and believe we have come to an agreement. We hope to see the DA now approved allowing for works to be commenced in the next few months.

I am very pleased to report a successful year for the Club. Increased revenue, social membership, patronage to the live entertainment resulting in increases in Bar, Gaming and Food Sales. Golf has been steady and we continue to work on course improvements when the weather allows. The DA for the outdoor balcony adjacent to the 1st tee and the 18th green has been submitted and we are waiting to hear back from council on approval. Management are reviewing plans for a bar upgrade and are liaising with a structural engineer for the possible removal of the two pylons in the members lounge. These items are consistent with our three year strategic plan which a summary is available on the front page of the Clubs website.

Thank you to all those who attended the Joshua Brown and Wes Bourne charity days last month. Both events were well patronised and there were positive outcomes for benefiting parties. We continue to watch Jordie Garners progress with interest on his current golfing journey. Updates are available on our Facebook site and thank you to those who have supported Jordie on this trip.
